Ok earlier today I was shopping at my local FS for a nice brand new computer. I wasnt looking for much just something really small and basic for my kids. After a few minutes of browsing a sales associate approached me and asked if I needed help. Saying I did the associate proceeded to show me some of the lower end budget computers after looking at two or three systems I settled on one. The salesman then proceeded to tell me abut the PSP and the Set up Plans. The SA tells me that he was obligated to go through this speil and he mentioned the points about the PSP and Set up plans. So just to see how bad this guy was I asked him if he was buying the computer what would he do. He replied to me that in all honesty on a computer under $600 dollars he personally wouldnt buy it. Whoa AN honest sales guy someone who we know makes Cash off PSP sales telling me the truth. Then He asks me how comfortable I am on computers and I told him that I am quite knowledgable, so he says dont bother with the setup either but did suggest to get some form of a virus scanner I told him that It was already taken care of. So then he proceeds to take me to the check out. Unfortunatly instead of us going right to the check out we were basically blocked from going there as one of the “PRODUCT EXPERTS” approached with Dollar signs in his eyes. The guy stood there staring at us and finnaly says that he can ring that up for me at the till. Now I know the Difference between the PE’s and The SA’s Its not knowledge or experience its MONEY usually commision is the major difference between the two. So basically one is gonna sell you all they can and the other is going to get you what you want. So here we go I proceeded to tell the PE that The SA was already helping me and that everything is ok. He gives a dirty look to the SA and then asks him DID U MENTION THE PSP he says yes and then the PE walks away. So we proceed to the check out and The SA rings it up then next thing you know some manager walks behind us looks at the screen and AGAIN asks the SA did you mention the PSP. the SA says no and the manager says ok and looking mad walks away. The poor SA is sitting there kind of flustered because two fellow staff members are basically hounding him while he is trying to serve me. So I finally pay for it and the SA carrys the product out for me says thank you and walks back inside. Now I forgot to buy some blank cds so i headed back into the store and while i was looking at the cd’s i see the same manager from earlier publicly berating the SA who was serving me. Hounding him on why I didnt get the services or the PSP and then tells him to keep pushing the PSP and basically intimidate me into buying it..I was disgusted I seriously hope that the SA can get out of there as fast as he can because this place is not healthy mentally for anyone. I am so disgusted with Futureshop its management and a strong majority of their staff. oh and one little side note as a customer I dont enjoy walking into a store and hearing the manager hit on a 15 yearold girl working on the till. especially when the Manager looks well into his 40’s. If I can help it I will never go there again but if that SA ever works some place else I will definatly want him helping me
