A lot of people post here on how bad the customer service was. Im not here to defent future shop because it seems your mind is already made up I just want to give you some advice on how you could get a better customer service.RETURN/EXCHANGE *1 – Bring the original invoice (If you lost it bring a statement of your credit card or debit card, we might be able to retrieve it with the date and card number. For people who used cash we’re sorry but because of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act we are not allowed to ask for your phone number so the only invoice that comes out of the printer we give it to you and thats it.) Think about this… if you dont take full responsability of your 1 and only bill how can you demend of futureshop to have your copy and the 800 other per day/per month/per year/per store! *2- Make sure you are in your 30days (14days for Laptops,computers, printers, monitors, portable DVD player, Camcorders, numeric cameras, and radar detectors) The law doesnt provide a delay for the customer to get a refund if he changes his mind. Some stores wont give you 1 day for even an exchange. We believe that 30days is reasonable and if it takes you 3months to realize that you dont want/need/like your product we’re sorry but we have to put a limit somewhere.*3- The return policy applies if your product is in good condition. Look at it; would you buy it like this? If the product has visible scratchs, bums, buttons missing, is totally broken, missing parts or spilled liquid would you buy it like that? so prepare yourself to either have to pay a percentage for the damages or simply dont bring it back. *4- Bring the product and all the accessories that came with it. ( manual, remote, cables, installCD, strap, case, batteries, antena, etc etc.) We sell you a product WITH accessories. We expect to get back the products with the same accessories.The box is not necessary but if there was a mailing rebate during your purchase we’ll have to charge you the mailing rebate since you have the box/the UPC code so you will get the mailing rebate. Advice ; send your mailing rebate after your 30days.We dont charge you for the fun of doing it. If your product is not defective we have to sell it to another customer as an open box so if there is anything missing we sell it at a lower price. if its defective we sent it back to the manufacter and he charges us for the missing accessories. I understand its frustrating to have a defective product and not being able to exchange it right away but if everything is there you will have no problem.*5- For Software, Games, CD, DVD make sure its not open. According to the Copyright Act ( R.S., 1985, c. C-42 we cant take them back if they are opened. We dont do that to make you angry, its the law. Of course if its defective (skips, freeze, wont install ) we’ll test it and we’ll be glad to exchange it for the same title. So the reason “I dont like it”, “my computer is not strong enough” (its clearly specified under the box the minimum requirements), “I already have it” or anything else is not a good reason so dont fight with the CS shes just doing her job.*6- Bring the original method of payment. If it was purchased with Visa, we’ll refund you on the same Visa (same numbers) If it was a gift so you don’t have the original card or you have a Gift receipt we’ll give you a credit in store which has no expiring date and you can use it in any future shop across Canada.If you have everything above everything will be easier for everybody. Youll get what you want and like your experience. I hope I helped you in someway.’
