Reading through this site it seems that the PSP is not really clear to customers. The salesman explains you the base and gives you a brochure explaining the rest. You can read it or not and have 14 or 30days depending the product to get a full refund. Whats important or not is very subjective so if you think you are missing information to make a good decision, 1 read the brochure, 2 call the store if you have questions, 3 come to the customer service and ask the representative your questions and concerns.The plan is very good for some products and for others not really. And no its not an exchange for everything ; in fact most products have to be sent for repair to toronto service centers and the only 3 reasons we could exchange it are : 3repairs + 1 estimane, gone more tant 60 consecutive days for repair, too costly to repairThere are few products that are exchanged right away with the service plan-All computer parts/accessories ; ( CD/DVD burners, video cards, keyboards, mouse, speakers, routers etc)-Car audio speakers, Subb, SOME MP3,earphones the rest are repairable-Home Theater ; Remotes,Some cheap brands of portable DVD like mintek, Nova (some models), Insigna but becarefull with those products you must take the extended warranty otherwise its only 90days with the manufacturer-Communications: Cell phones during the 1year only (after that its repair) . For the wireless some brands like GE, V-tech, Motorola and Phonemate. The panasonic are REPAIRThose are the only producs that will be exchanged right away for everything else you will have to send it out to repair.NOTE: Ipods, SAMSUNG mp3, Creative mp3. Since 2005-2006 those mp3 players are not exchanged in the store. The manufacturer doesnt allow us to take it back and give you a new one. They ask the customer to call them at a 1800 number and they will do the service. Only one thing… even if you are under their warranty, they will charge you shipping and the rates can go up to 50$. For those products even though the service plan might look expensive at first you should take it. With the PSP we will refund you the shipping charges and you will be covered for the 2nd or 3rd year to come.***NOTE: The service plan you purchase can be voided for 2 reasons. 1- If your product has physical damage. Intentionnal or not.2- (since AUGUST 2003) If your product is exchanged after the manufacturers warranty (can be after 3months or 1 year) meaning under the PSP. If an exchange accurs, the plan has fulfilled its purpose and its voided even if theres 2-3 years left. You can then keep your product with the new manufacturers warranty starting on the date or your exchange or buy a new service plan.
