I have to rant about the BULLSHIT experience I just had at Futureshop.Last week I went into a Futureshop store and attempted to purchase a laptop and printer for my gf.  The selection was poor, and the staff member serving me told me that this was due to an inventory turnover.  Strike One.The employee was able to convince me that one of the computers they had would be suitable for her needs, so I decided to purchase it.  However upon deciding this, I was told the model number was not available in the store. So he tried to assist me in placing an online order there at their location.At that time we were unable to process the order because there was something wrong with every terminal in the store. When we found one that worked, the webpage would not load properly and although we tried to make the transaction, it failed. The employee urged me to make the transaction online when I got home. I couldn’t believe that such a large company had been so handicapped in the selling of its own merchandise. Strike Two.When I got home I placed the first order and tried to have the items shipped to my home, but the webpage told me I would not be able to ship the items to my home address and that I should order it to the store close to my house. So I requested the items be shipped to the store for pickup and believed this to be the case. But it wasn’t so. I received an email shortly after telling me the order has been cancelled because this type of transaction wouldn’t be possible. The item could not be shipped to my home or to the store. What is the point of their website if they can’t make sales through it? Why did they give me this option if this option is not available?I tried this two more times, and each time I tried every possible option (send to my home, or send to the store,) the orders were cancelled. Yesterday I placed the order AGAIN, this time to be received at my work, only to find another email this morning telling me that the order is unable to be processed (see the subject line). However, when I read the email and log into myFutureshop account, I am led to believe the order is on its way. What the heck is going on?Why is it that Futureshop is successful at opening new stores across the country, but so miserably fails at executing a simple customer order?I finally called them to confirm the order and was told I had to call from the number listed on the credit card billing. But THAT number is a cell phone (I travel a lot for work and don’t have a landline) and that cell phone was across the province with my girlfriend. So basically I had to call Visa and list another phone number (which I don’t have) that they could call me on to continue with the purchase.Strike three. How fucking ridiculous is this company?
