Well I use to be an employee there, and then I got hired to another company that deals with Best Buy/Future Shop. Repairing the computers in the shop. Because of some middle management power hungry manager, that wants everyone to bow to them, interferring and telling my company that I can no longer step foot inside a store. I am out of the job since we have a large contract with them. It is idiots like that power hungry manager that makes Future Shop crumble. And now I am jobless. Don’t get me wrong, Future Shop is a great place. But it is these managers that make life miserable, all they think about is the bottom line not thinking on how the customer or employees may feel. As a Retail Store they should be more focused on Customer service, not the bottom line, since people still flock to Future Shop to buy stuff. Oh and one more thing about the commission, it is true that they make more on certain items. Some of them are made out of country and in China where Best Buy owns a factory and makes these items.There is my rant for now.

I agree with you 100%. The General Manager in my store (Vancouver Robson/Granville store) is a SCUM. All he cares about is the warranty sales and favours those who sells the most. It is disgusting seeing him lash out at a merchandiser for “leaving a door close.” I feel sick to my stomach realizing that I work for this guy. But I don’t work there any more, THANK GOD. I feel as though my soul has been tarnish trying to get people to buy the warranty, AKA the scam that is future shop. I cannot tell you how much better I feel about myself now that I’ve quit.
Every morning meeting is about the PSP shit its so sad, all these people care about is numbers. Its all about numbers, they don’t realize how full of crap their job is and how unfulling it is. The General Manager doesn’t care about people who don’t make him money yet in turn I see him as a plague in social society. I don’t want to go into detail about why I have so much hate but all I can say is steer clear of this store as unprofessionalism exists and a scumbag GM run the store.
