My mum just came out of Future Shop where they manager of appliances belittled her so badly that she came home in a mess of tears TWO DAYS before Christmas!!!
She bough a washing machine there on sale in an open box sale and they told her that there was nothing wrong with it and if it didn’t work they would replace it no questions asked. They also said that they would deliver, set up and move the old washer to the garage for her….

Well today they delievered the machine (made her wait home all day and night after they gave her a deliever time of between 8am and 6pm) and they took it downstairs but would not only not set it up, but they wouldn’t move the other either (Now I ask you how is my 60 year old mother supposed to move a washing machine??). They said it’s not in their contract to set up the washer “just hook the hot to the hot and the cold to the cold and sign here” Well the sign here was actually ONLY supposed to be signed after they set it up and checked to see if it worked!! HA!! They knew all along that it didn’t work and that’s why they didn’t set it up. After it taking up a few hours to get the other one moved and this set up (oh and they sent it with no instructions or warranty card)we realised that it did not work at all… and so my mum went back to the store thinking he would stay true to his word that they would send out a new one….
When she got there he denied everything he said just yesterday and made her feel like dirt. He refused to give her a new machine and said she signed off on the machine saying it worked ok. She repeated what he said and he said “No no I would never say that you must have misunderstood” when she disaggreed he said are you calling me a liar–I am a pastor of a church you know why would I lie to you?!” When my mum said that she was repeating what he said he hinted that he would throw her out of the shop if she continued saying this.

I am so mad at this guy I wanna go there and beat the guy senseless. I mean what kind of a store picks on and takes advantage of people like this… she was crying so hard and has really messed her up just in time for the holidays. I’m furious!!!!!

So now no washer… and they are supposed to come take this away and refund her money but I am not holding my breath… that does not excuse his behaviour to her, making my mum cry, making us wait around a whole day and all this hassle and arguing!!!

What a disgusting pig! Just wait until next Saturday… that guy is getting apiece of my mind and is the store manager and head office. I know it won’t do any good but man they have really pissed me off!!!

Well I hope you get something for the hassles BUT we all know they are all going to pass the buck down the line till the last person and hes going to blame head office its a big circle !!

Every now and then you will hit a maqnager that does care though and heres hoping you and yout mum get a better guy 2nd time round

Sorry to hear about your issues with FS and the washer — try to get to the store manager; there are a few good ones in that place (hard to find).

On a separate note…bought a PS3 on the boxing day sale 12/25 (FS site advertised 1000 in stock) — when I completed the order they were in stock. However, got an email today (12/26) from FS indicating that they “had a change in inventory” and my order was now out of stock.

Not sure WTF is going on…pretty sleazy to say they have the units and then back out from it. Sent an email to them — if they respond will let all know. Not sure if anyone else has experienced this and would appreciate hearing.

that sounds kind of shady… hopefully they fix things for your mom. There is probably more to the story tho…

Find another store to buy your PS3… or better yet, get a Wii.

I was recently wrongfully dismissed from future shop for “accusing a manager of ’stealing’ commission’ to give to someone else in the IPG (computer department).
It turns out that when I was pulled into the office for a “breach of values” termination they didn’t realize that I had a photocopy of the commission flip in my folder and when they told me they were letting me go because I falsely accussed someone of stealing from me, I showed them the photocopy of the flip with the manager’s signature and and the invoice with his directions to a CSR to flip a PSP and altec lansing speaker (blue gold) to his buddy.
after presenting the photocopy, both manager and store manager were speechless for period of time.. the store manager then said to me ” well, we can tell you’re really not happy here anyway, or let’s just say your not a good fit for us”
Not a good fit.. Well, top commission in the store for 19 months straight, #1 on circle of excellence a few times, always top 10.. gone to Deerhurst for trade show, managed the floor, future leaders, trained new employees, etc… etc…
Obviously.. a bunch of bullshit from a coke-head sales manager and a new store manager who didn’t even know me, and thought i was a relatively new hire. Also– this store manager Paul Drobotanko even mentioned that he wants to hire more young girls as product experts.
He had even been spoken too apparently about this and had numerous compliants and flirting and touching the female employees.

What makes me sick is that the people who are so incompetent are the ones getting ahead. The only thing future shop cares about is higher gross margin and PSP contracts.
Customer service is not a concern.. whatsoever.
They hired a PRODUCT EXPERT who didn’t even know what a USB cable is or what it’s for. They have a female employee in Chatham named Amy Denomme. She tells customers that a laptop keyboard and touchpad is an accessory and only covered for 90 days.
Also.. she tells customers that systems do not come with Windows and you MUST get a set-up… Numerous complaints from customers.. and she’s still there… UNBELIEVEABLE!
I could go on and on and on.. things like this happen every single day here ins Chatham. It’s terrible sad.
FUTURE SHOP IS A CANCER!

Junk, Future Shock Sucks, is right I am going to plug up the C.E.O.s toilet for all of you poor people. I don’t like this store! Sears is the same way too!
You know, I tryed to buy some junky 65.00 speakers from these FS a**holes once but the know-all-sales-guy was such a pice of shit that stunk that I walked out.
Next day I wrote a letter to FS and told them how nice this guy was.
FS call me and said that if I come back in that I would get a gift! I would never go spend a penny in that junk store, I do look at reviews on things I buy and from what I hear from other people also.
I am an electronics tech but I also work on cars, lawn mower, tractor engines and other things “repairs”.
I have found that almost every thing you buy today is JUNK “it’s already broken before you buy it” and it’s true no mater how you look at it….. and for all those sales to C.E.O. there JUNK too!
Its best to get items at garage sales -cheep and good unless you like to hit your head on the wall!

oh I forgot I really like your website, I feel sorry for all you people that got f**ked over on your items, I been there too.
