As the title says, I am going to explain the customer service experience I received and would love to see how all the obvious FS employees explain how it is my fault that I was treated that way.

I went into FS last year looking for a tv, I told the sales guy I am buying today, show me some tvs. He showed me a couple and everytime I would ask a question he would answer it and leave to scan price tags then come back after about 5 minutes. I asked him if there was anything on sale and he said not really and went scanning again. Needless to say I took my bank card and had the competitor scan it for a much cheaper price than what I was being offered at FS and I gave that guy every opportunity for a sale.

A couple of weeks after that I went after a laptop and again same deal, ignored for about 20 min and then when someone approached, I again said I am buying today, still same treatment, answer questions and disappear. I again to my bank card to walmart and bought a laptop there.

Last month, knowing it was christmas season, I went in first thing in the morning on a monday so nothing special and was not busy at all, I tell the associate that I am here to buy a laptop and my work will be putting money in my account when I tell them what laptop and price. I asked him to show me some particular brands, he hesitated and seemed like he really didn’t want to (I was asking for non-HP), every time I asked a question he would go and take off. Needless to say, I left and just ordered the laptop through my company and the dealer they deal with.
Why is it when I tell the sales guys that this is pretty much guaranteed sale they treat me like they don’t want to deal with me? I mean, I was there for an external hard drive and I looked at that guy and said I have cash in my pocket, where is this drive? He walked away and went to deal with someone else. I am nice and pleasant every time I am in there, I just think that I am not meant to buy from FS if this is the way I am going to be treated, I mean a total of 4 times I tell them I’m buying that day and they walk away from me/ignore me/ make me wait. This is no way to treat someone if you want them to spend money in your store or even get commission from their purchase…

When I worked at FSHOP the manager used to yell at the employees saying that “BEST BUY BEAT US IN SALES YESTURDAY! WHATS WRONG WITH YOU GUYS. YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO BE EXPERTS AND YOU GOT BEAT BY CLERKS!” I found this to be too funny! You dont have to work at Future Shop to be a expert! LIKE WTF! I have had more people at Future Shop lie to me than anywhere else. The reason why the sales associate had to keep running to the computer was to see how much the mark up was on the TV. He was checking his commission before he made the sale. Thats why future shop employees suck becuase they check the commission before they sell the product. Thats is the reason why there are so many returns at futureshop as well. Therefore that is why when you go into Future Shop you dont have someone that doesnt care to listen to you unless your buying the product that makes them $$$. Also that is why Best Buy is so succecessful and dont get me wrong I fuckin hate Best Buy too. I do not believe in big companies they take money out of the community, while creating shitty minimum wage paying jobs. viva la revolution!!!!!!!!!STEAL FROM THIS STORE THEY WONT MISS THE MONEY!!!!!!

Let’s look at this logically:

1) Future Shop sales people are on commission.
2) They are trained to approach you right away (many people complain about the constant attention).
3) They were totally uninterested in helping you.

If most people are helped by the sales people and you, on three different occasions and with three different sales people, are ignored then there is obviously something wrong with you. Here are a few suggestions:

1) Saying that you’re buying today is a good step, good job.
2) After asking a question don’t stare at the laptop for minutes on end. Dead silence is awkward and expecting the employee to stand there while you examine a machine ignoring him is stupid.
3) Be nice to people, don’t be rude. If you’re posting on this site (with “sucks” in the name) then obviously you’re going to have a little of that in your attitude).
4) Talk to a manager if you’re being treated unfairly.
5) If Future Shop sucks so much just stop going there! Why do keep going in there? There are plenty of other stores both around you and online!

In conclusion if this is happening to you with a bunch of different people and the common element is you then it’s obviously you’re fault.

If your getting the same service 3 different times, its time to change your attitude.

What future shop is this at? I work there. And hate it.

The answer is very simple. Vote with your wallet and do you business elsewhere. Futureshop/Best Buy are not the only game in town.
