The rebuttal:

1) No, the Service Plan does not cover everything. This is correct. It is the responsibility of the customer to read the terms and conditions of what they are signing for. If you don’t read a contract before you sign for it then it’s your fault.

2) This is basically a complaint that a discount is not as high as perceived. I would call a sale a discount, I would call taking money off of the cable when you buy a lot of items a discount.

3) This one is actually true. Carry on.

4) Obviously this guy never actually did a computer setup. It takes about four hours and the technicians do a lot more then what he mentions. The setup is great for the average computer user. If you’re a geek you don’t need it.

5) He’s complaining that a salesperson will be stingy with a discount unless you buy a larger amount of items. This is ridiculous. Of course they’ll push you to get more in order to apply a discount. They need to make a profit.

6) Monster cables are a scam. No argument there. The setup on computers is not.

7) This is not true. What the store must do is make a reasonable amount of product available. If Future Shop sells 20 laptops without a setup at the advertised price and all that is left is 5 laptop pre-setup for an extra $100 then they can refuse a setup. However usually Future Shop will waive the fee if you don’t want to pay it.
