And even if there was all that in the end...don't buy it if you don't trust it or buy brand new and pay full price. Open box is a common thing at Future Shop stores, if you weren’t informed you were buying an open box (someone purchased the product and returned it in 14 days) then I could understand, but the same way you could return it and get your money back, but based on what you are saying, you were aware it was open box because it was “heavily discounted” All open box items have a sticker on them stating it is open box. The company loses points for having open box products in the store. The sales associates also will try not to sell an item as a open box because they lose money off the sale. I used to be in charge of taking the used items to the back of the store and I have been told from many different managers to rip the open box stickers and switch them to factory fresh because they look as though they have not been purchased, when in fact they have no idea what the customer did to that product.
