I bought a washer and dryer a few weeks before Christmas thinking that if it came on sale Boxing day or week that I could get the low price guarantee. No such luck as futureshop wont honor the guarantee for boxing day sales. Now the unbelievable part. They tell me to return the washer and dryer as it is less than 30 days and then buy the same washer and dryer at the boxing day sale price. Now how is that for customer service. They expect me to disconnect the hoses and vent duct and lug it up the stairs and across the yard and drive 60 km to the nearest store!!! Its not like its a lightweight item. Not only is it inconvenient for me but it is work for them also. They acknowledge that the policy is stupid and alot of work for everyone but that is the only way to get the sale price. I wrote head office to complain but they just sent me a form letter and said too bad its our policy. Thats it for me. I was a long time customer but no more. With customer friendly policies like this I will shop elsewhere and hope they go belly up.

Dude your a m—-, Your the one trying to save money so why the hell would they bend over backwards for you lmao. You already gave them your businesses now you think you can walts in anytime n save ur self money especially on boxing day lol If you read your reciept or any documents stating lowest price it well tell you those days arent honoured, Thats the price you pay for being impatient cause clearly you bought it for your need. If you didnt need it you would have waited so shut your pie hole and take ur washer back. And if you honestly think futureshop will go belly up your dumber than the arguement you put forward.

I ran into the same “problem”. I bought a product (a laptop) just prior to boxing day. When I was buying it I asked the sales guy about their price matching policy and how it worked with boxing day and week sales. He said as long as I was in the store and physically able to buy the product on a boxing day sale/week price, they would just price match it for me. Which made complete sense, since if they wouldnt, I would just buy it anyways, and then return my other one, resulting in the same thing for me (the product I want, at the sale price). Except now Future Shop would have an open box item that I returned which they would have to mark down and lose money on, instead of a new one.

I dont know what kind of person you talked to, maybe a seasonal hire who didnt know what he was talking about but as long as you were in the store, and the product was available for you to purchase, they would have price matched it. Sometimes asking for a manager goes a long way since they are usually more aware of their store policies than most of their sales people.

Pplaya, you must be a futureshop employee as you can’t read and have no common sense.
First off I didn’t say I thought they were going belly up. It is my hope though and they have lost me as a customer. Second, have you heard of customer service?? Oh ya, you haven’t so you must work for them or be the company whore. Once again if you could read I never disputed the boxing day policy, just the lack of customer service and the idiocy of their return policy. If you cant see the policy as crazy then you too are an idiot. Ps you writing style is like a a 12 year old crack bitch. Have a nice day!!!

I think the ending of your post “ps you writing style is like a 12 year old crack b***h” explains your mental capacity, but I thought I would explain a little further the reasoning for the boxing day sale. The reason they can not give you the price of a boxing day sale is because on boxing day people wait in the cold, in a huge line up, for hours and hours just to get through those doors and receive those prices you wish to have. So, if they did give you that exclusive one day only price for any day that you wish it would obviously be extremely unfair for those who have payed their dues to get those limited time only prices. If they could honor this price anytime there would be no point for a box day blow out sale, which means nothing to us I know.. but they make a big profit for big first come first serve sales like that. Now when they told you to return the sale, and then re-buy the product they were actually being quite nice seeing how they found a loop hole for you, and I know from experience that they do not mean that you literally have to un-hook everything and actually bring that product back and re-purchase it. It is all paperwork. I am sure if you would have listen to whoever you were speaking with they would have told you to come in that day of the boxing sale with just your receipt and they would return the sale (on paper) and re-sell it, giving you the difference back. I know this is true for almost every futureshop, and I have done this myself as well as many other I know of have also done this. I have had no problem with the store, I do however find that when approached by an ignorant customer who can not control their temper and uses profanity as such they usually do not tolerate a person like that. But really who could blame them?

Jesus christ…are there 3 FS associated people on this and some sort of a PR ‘good cop bad cop’? I think everyone besides KLAINE is from Ion PR, or an interal FS corporate shill. PPLAYA is the bad copy and Johnponz is the good cop? Both smell like rats and newwoman1234 I guess is the back up?

I’m actually less sympathetic to the poster, because as someone noted customers pay what they pay out of neccessity and really, someone shouldn’t be given 14 days to get a better price but I’m a cold bastard. BUT…where is the customer service and earning good will as a faceless corporation with a brand to maintain?

Even by the accounts of the FS affiliates on this post, FS will price match within the return period. I think this is a retarded business practive but you can’t avoid someone coming in with a computer and getting a refund only to buy the same computer at a sale price…but FS sure can screw someone with a washer. See, like someone said, a laptop would have to be marked down so it is in FS’s best interest to just pony up the cash most likely. And again, the policy is ‘we’ll honour our guarantees only if it is convenient to us’.
If the fix was ‘on paper’ then that would’ve been the nice ‘loop hole’ to point out…are you mentally retarded newwoman1234? OMG, you are just like this old poster, PRIONS, poor ass arguments which make you look like a fool and obviously a shill for FS.

It is a joke and for a publicly traded company(Best Buy) who has a monopoly (BB + FS), to treat customers like this is disgusting but then again, that is what monopolies do, just maintain the status quo.

lol how is Best Buy + Future Shop a monopoly? There are tons of other electronic retailers across the nation. Visions, Staples, Soundsaround, Walmart, Memory Express, etc etc. Never mind all the random one off electronic stores you can find in any city.

Best Buy and Future Shop dont come even close to having a monopoly over the electronics market…

shit that goes on sale boxing day is just that… shit! its always old models theyre trying to clear out. plus people actually line up at like 3am to get in there to purchase these items. its chaotic in there and it clearly states that they dont match prices for boxing day as no one out there does. good luck going into any department store that day saying its cheaper somewhere else.

Something to say?
